Seating chart app for iPhone

It arranges.
You approve.

Tell it who must sit together and who must not. Seated works out the table plan — and names the rule it cannot honour.

A wedding, a gala, a company dinner, a conference, a fundraiser. If people have to sit somewhere, and it matters where.

Free to plan on iPhone. Documents are $29.99 once.

Seated Plan tab showing six full tables and who sits at each one.
The finished plan — every table, every name.

The job

Seating is the scramble everyone puts off.

Other tools hand you a floor plan and a hundred name circles to drag around. That is still the work, on a prettier canvas. Seated does the opposite: you describe the constraints, and it produces the arrangement.

How it works

Three tabs. Two kinds of rule.

Set the room, put a name on each chair, write who must sit together and who must not. Then read the plan and approve it.

  1. Set the tables on Plan

Add tables and seat counts — quick setup if you already know the room. This is the capacity the plan has to honour.

  2. Put a name on each chair in Hall

Tap a table and type. The guest list is those chairs, in seat order. A name without a chair is not on the list.

  3. Write the two rules that matter

Must sit together. Must not share a table. That is the whole vocabulary — simple enough to defend to the guest who asks why they are at table nine.

The app

You can see yourself using it.

Plan, Hall and Guests are the same event, three ways. Nothing here is a mock-up of a feature that does not ship.

Hall tab: six round tables on a floor map, with dance floor and entrance marked.

The room, as a map

Drag tables into place. Tap one to seat people. The hall is the room, not a canvas of name chips.

Guests tab listing Table 1 with a name on every numbered chair.

Names on every chair

Guests is the same seating, in chair order. Search it. Open a person. Change a note.

Documents screen listing table plan, find-your-table, numbers and notes.

Four sheets for the day

The same plan, printed four ways, so the venue, the door and the kitchen cannot disagree.

The part that matters on the day

It will not quietly break a rule.

If Seated cannot honour every constraint, it says which rule was the problem and names the people involved. It leaves them unseated rather than putting them somewhere you forbade.

  • It tells you, in plain words, when you are short of seats, when a group will not fit, or when two rules contradict.
  • A late name does not reshuffle everyone who already has a chair. The new arrival is found a place; the rest stay put.
  • A rule between two people applies to everyone they are grouped with — keep one half of a couple away, and the other half stays away too.

On your phone

The guest list stays on the device.

A seating chart is a map of a family. Names, rules and tables live in a local database on this iPhone. They are not uploaded to a Seated server.

Sign-in is optional

Apple, Google or email — only if you want separate plans, or to carry a purchase to a second device.

No tracking in the app

No analytics profile of how you seat people. Purchases go through Apple.

You can delete the account

Settings → Delete account removes the login and clears seating data on that phone.

Thirteen languages

English, Ukrainian, Polish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Czech, Romanian, Swedish and Turkish — one setting for the app and every printed page.

Before you decide

Straight answers.

Is this only for weddings?

No. The same solver seats a gala, a company dinner, a conference or a birthday. Weddings are one reason people need a table plan. Nothing in the product is wedding-specific.

Do I have to drag names around a floor plan?

No. You type names onto chairs and write rules. Seated produces the arrangement. Hall is for laying out the room and seating a table — not for shuffling a hundred chips.

What if it cannot seat everyone?

It says so, and leaves those people unseated rather than breaking a rule. Typical causes: not enough seats, a group larger than your biggest table, or together/apart rules that contradict.

What do I pay for?

Planning is free and stays free. The four printable PDFs are $29.99 once — a non-consumable in-app purchase, not a subscription. Restore Purchase is on the paywall.

Do I need an account?

No. The whole app, including the purchase, works without signing in. An account is only for keeping plans apart on one phone, or carrying a purchase to another.

Is it on Android?

Not yet. Seated is an iPhone app.

Which languages does the app speak?

Thirteen: English, Ukrainian, Polish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Czech, Romanian, Swedish and Turkish. Guest names stay as you type them.
